Latest News: Al Qaeda militants in Iraq vowed war on "worshippers of the cross" and protesters burned a papal effigy on Monday over Pope Benedict's comments on Islam, while Western churchmen and statesmen tried to calm passions. The statement by an umbrella group led by Iraq's branch of al Qaeda came after the Pontiff said on Sunday he was deeply sorry Muslims had been offended by his use of a medieval quotation on Islam and holy war.
I was intrigued by the statement that they vowe "war on the worshippers of the cross". Are those of us that have a relationship with Christ included in that militant statement?
As Christians we don't worship the cross but we do worship the one who died on the cross. The one who preached peace, love, forgiveness, kindness, humility, trust and mercy, He is the One that I want to proclaim the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Strange, the one who preached peace as well as his followers who try to be peaceful being singled out. Why are men so afraid of Jesus? Why are they afraid of his followers?
This will be our theme for 4th Sunday Praise. Hope to see you Sunday Night at Central!
