A very early morning trip to Tulsa as Craig flew back to Las Vegas.  Brian  took the ride down the turnpike with me.  Returning to Columbus we had to get donuts.  The family enjoyed them very much.

Letter

Dad/Mom:
I just got back from our annual Veterans Day assembly at the high school.  It's always a moving tribute to all those who serve and have served for our Nation.  We had about 50 former community veterans in attendance and about 800 students, staff and community members.

Dad, Thank you for serving our Country so I have the freedom to do what I enjoy the most, working for kids!  I have the freedom to give my political viewpoints (sometimes positive, sometimes negative) because of people like you who loved this Country and wanted to give back to make sure your own boys, grand kids and now great grand daughter had that freedom.  I am proud of you and your service.  I tell your story often.

Love,
David

Democracy is when the indigent, and not the men of property, are the rulers.

Last year we took Amelia to Annabel's Fun Farm in Welch, Oklahoma to find her first pumpkin.  This year she had to settle for a Texas pumpkin.  Sorry Amelia.

9/11

These pictures are on the wall in my home office.  I look at these every day as I pass by on my way to the dining room.  I will never forget my trips to New York City in 1976 and when Craig attended college there many years later.  The towers and 9/11 will always be a memory in my heart.

Labor Day Weekend

We had Amelia stay with us for the weekend.  We enjoyed attending Little Balken Days in Pittsburg.  Always great to spend time with her.  We made a visit to Broken Arrow to see Granny and Grandad before eating dinner with Brian and Allison.

Happy 35th Anniversary

35 years ago today at 2:00 p.m. at the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Church of Christ, Debrorah Faye Ellis became my wife. What a great day that was. It was 108 degrees outside and felt like 150 degrees in my white tux. It was so hot, when they threw rice at us, it started cooking when it hit the pavement.

I will never forget the first time I saw Debbie as she walked into the church auditorium in her beautiful wedding dress. My eyes teared up because of her beauty.

Our good friend Kent Hall the Education Minister for the congregation married us on that hot summer day.

Many things rush through my mind as I look back on 35 years.......

But the one thing that I can truly say is that I did marry the most beautiful and wonderful woman in all the world. My best friend.

I wish we could be together today to celebrate, but the granddaughter needs you!

Love you!
