Give Thanks

Psalm 100
A Psalm. For Giving Thanks.

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the LORD is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Tasting Worship

“Taste and see the Lord is good” (Psalm 34:8)

“Come to the table, He’s prepared for you. The bread of forgiveness, the wine of release. Come to the table and sit down beside Him. The Savior wants you to join the feast”. (Michael Cord)

Worship is about God

Lynn Anderson in the book "In Search of Wonder", reminds us that Worship is about God! It’s not about us. Worship is fundamentally praise: it is our response to God for who he is and what he has done. Worship is not about tradition and routine; worship is about God—his power, his glory, his will, and his plans for men and women everywhere. I hope you long for that type of worship in your life.

The Beginnings

Worship. The greatest aspect of life. Being able to praise and give honor to the Creator of the Universe! How does one come into the presence of a being with such power, strength and majesty?

About ten years a go I began my journey to truly understand what "real" worship was all about. It's not just singing, communion, prayer and hearing a lesson on Sunday morning. Its a 24-7 lifestyle. It's living like Jesus and being thankful for that opportunity each and every minute of the day.

I have enjoyed sharing with others this new love of worship. It's a daily renewal. Renewing ourselves continually as we serve the King of Kings!

I hope this blog will be used to explore the avenue of worship and be used as an instrument to further worship at the Central Church.

Come along for the ride. You will not be disappointed, as we encounter the Great I Am!
