In May Columbus was hit by a wind storm that devastated many school facilities. We have repaired several roofs and buildings the past three months.
The football stadium also took a direct hit. We lost the lights, press box, and the stadium itself was structurally damaged enough to give it a year before it has to be replaced. We have started the process to visit with the community and get their input on possible replacement options.
The timing could not be any worse for a community that is hurting economically to look at a bond issue to build a new facility. I know it will be difficult but we need to look at what it will be for our kids and for the generations to come.
