Last night was such a blessing for those of us that attended the York College Concert Choir performance. I have known my good friend Dr. Clark Rausch for over 20 years. Each time I hear his Choir perform brings back memories of my York days when we taught together. He is a very special individual who delivers God’s message to people through powerful song.
This power of song was highlighted in Acts when Paul and Silas were captured and placed in Prison. “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody’s chains came loose.”(Acts 16:25-26).
Isn’t this what we long to see through our worship in song? An outpouring of God’s power that leads to freedom.
