The Christmas Story

Luke 2:1-7

2:1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to his own town to register.

4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Casa Bonita Denver

When Debbie and I were in high school, we loved going to Casa Bonita in Tulsa.  It closed down a few years ago.  The only Casa Bonita left today is in Denver on Colfax Street.  It was great!  A walk down memory lane.

Colorado

A beautiful drive on I-70 across Colorado.

Happy Thanksgiving!  The Carriger family is preparing for the 6 Tunnels to Hoover Dam 5k Turkey Trot this morning overlooking Lake Mead.  We have been training for the past 8 weeks.  Should be a fun time.  After the run a nice Thanksgiving buffet at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson.

5k Thanksgiving Day

Back in my younger days, I ran several 5k races all across the mid-west.  I still run today, but I'm much slower.  My daughter-in-law is now an avid runner and enjoys marathons and 10k races.  We are all headed to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving to see Craig so why not a family 5k?  The entire family will run the Hoover Dam Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day.  It should be fun.
